What is the Motown Glowdown Pickleball Tournament?

Motown Glowdown Pickleball is a weekend pickleball tournament where players compete on indoor hardcourts under UV/blacklight in Morgantown, WV. Glow balls, blacklight lighting, and neon-lit courts create a high-energy, visually striking experience across divisions for every age, from Club and Greek life to families and kids.

Who is eligible to play in the tournament?

The event is open to Club, Fraternity & Sorority, Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Parent/Child Doubles, Kids Only Doubles (ages 6–14), and High School Doubles. We welcome a range of experience levels and will do our best to group teams in a way that keeps games fun, competitive, and development-focused for players of every age.

What does the weekend schedule look like?

The weekend is organized by division rather than a fixed number of games per team. Friday night (7–11 PM) is Club & Greek Cups, with a costume contest kicking things off. Saturday runs Doubles Play all day, with Women's, Men's, and Mixed Doubles each getting their own window. Sunday is Family & Youth Day, with Parent/Child, Kids Only, and High School Doubles. See the full schedule for exact times.

Is blacklight pickleball safe for kids and families?

Yes. Games are played on indoor hardcourts, and the Sunday divisions are built specifically for families and younger players, including a Kids Only division for ages 6–14 and a Parent/Child division. The main twist is the lighting and glowing equipment, not the style of play, so the goal is a memorable atmosphere that still feels safe, supervised, and comfortable for players of every age.

What does the registration fee include?

The $50 team entry fee covers tournament entry and division play, glow-in-the-dark balls, blacklight court setup, and access to the decorations table so you can tape up your paddle or your outfit before you play.

Do we need to bring our own paddles?

We'll have a limited number of paddles available on-site, but we recommend bringing your own if you have one, just to be safe. Official glow-in-the-dark balls will be provided.

How do we register our team, and when is the deadline?

Head to the registration section on the main pickleball page and click your division to register - the $50 flat fee applies to every division. Once registration opens, managers can complete the form, submit payment, and receive a confirmation email with next steps. We recommend registering early, as spots may fill quickly.
